Book Request List

We want to be able to serve our patrons the best we can. We would like to provide you with books you wish to read. Please feel free to respond to this book request list with any books or CD's you would like us to get in the library. Just comment with your requests. Thank-You!

    I would like to request that the library purchase books by Mary Jane Auch, such as, "Journey To Nowhere," and "Frozen Summer." I read "Frozen Summer" and was so much into this book that I read it cover to cover in a couple hours. It was about the hardships a 12 year old pioneer girl and her family must endure in the "frozen" summer of 1816. This story takes place in western New York State. The father moves the family there because the land is said to be more fertile, but the settlers there have to really rough it out when snowstorms keep killing their crops that summer of 1816. The girls' mother gives birth, and due to her extreme homesickness, depression, the mother kind of loses it and all responsibilities pretty much fall into the hands of the girl, who handles all this pretty well. "Journey To Nowhere" is the preceding book to "Frozen Summer" and I would very much like to read this to my kids.
